We are Access, Arts and Adventures. We're a community group run for and by the disabled community. Founded by disabled change maker, Michelle Stannard, she set up the group to give members a voice, connect people and to promote creativity as a means to improve wellbeing and reduce social isolation.
We run a series of collaborative, online and in-person activities and programmes for disabled creatives. These include arts and crafts, theatre, dance, music, creative writing and journalism. We put accessibility and inclusion at the centre of everything we do, to ensure all member's needs are met.
We have recently received Arts Council funding to run a brilliant, 12 month programme. Our programme is in collaboration with Co-relate, a social enterprise offering audience-focused writing and editing, photography, design, strategy and facilitation. Our free to access, fully-funded activities include our creative writing group; Amplified, our Wellbeing Wednesday activities, and a brand new journalism programme. These are a combination of in-person sessions based at Biggin Hall in Dover, and online sessions via Zoom.
We love to collaborate, and so far we have worked with some brilliant organisations, including Sense, Future Foundry, Barrel Organ Theatre, Kent Wildlife Trust, The Riverside Centre, Dover Pride, Ceramic Art Dover, Nikki Fair from Savage Martial Arts, Dover Repair Cafe, The Sunrise Care and Kent Poetry CIC. If you're looking for new opportunities to collaborate, or if you would like to discuss our activities further, then please contact Michelle on accessartsforall@gmail.com.
